Quality Assurance and Inspection for Texas Transmission Lines
Stanley Consultants was hired to provide inspection services for the lines and, as owner's engineer for design, review services at the new 345 kV Gray Substation and 345 kV Cross Series Compensation Station.
This project for Cross Texas Transmission is made up of three transmission lines containing over 230 miles of double-circuit 345 kV line that connect four substations in the panhandle of Texas. These substations are the White Deer, Gray, Tesla and Silverton substations.
Our quality assurance and inspection team is responsible for reviewing the installation of all structures, equipment, conductor, OPGW, etc. associated with the transmission line construction. During construction, our inspectors check for compliance with plans, specifications and other contract requirements. Daily reports document the Contractor's progress, completed pay units, digital photographs, and any concerns with the overall quality of the construction. In addition, Stanley Consultants is responsible for document control of design drawings, access maps, ROW provisions, stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), inspection reports, and test reports.
