Analysis and Studies Meet Environmental Study Requirements
The project included operations in the alignment, configurations, and interface with the terminus (Salt Lake Community College and Cottonwood Street in Murray City near Intermountain Health Care) for the Utah Transit Authority. A major element in this project was performing and completing the required environmental analysis and studies in accordance to UTA's Environmental Study Report (ESR).
Stanley Consultants attended stakeholder coordination meetings and worked closely with stakeholders to complete the preliminary engineering and environmental services. Stakeholders included Taylorsville and Murray Cities, Salt Lake County, Wasatch Front Regional Council, and Utah DOT. Stanley Consultants' environmental team prepared the environmental document in accordance to UTA requirements, completed conceptual design work on the alternatives, and assisted UTA with the public review process. Using the standards of the ESR, Stanley Consultants worked with UTA through final environmental document review and approval.
The design team is preparing conceptual plans for the fixed guideways, drainage, utility relocations, termini stations, roadway tie-ins, and signals. Auxiliary design services included survey and mapping. All work was performed in accordance to AASHTO, UDOT, and UTA's design criteria.
The environmental document, conceptual design, studies, and analysis are in process.
