PHOENIX, ARIZONA - The SR 143 Sky Harbor Boulevard Traffic Interchange was honored with a Build Arizona Award for Public Renovation, Highway Construction Projects Over $10 Million from the Associated General Contractors of Arizona. The awards program recognizes companies and individuals for innovation, creativity, safety and dedication to the Arizona Chapter of the Associated General Contractors.
Stanley Consultants designed the nine-span, AASHTO Type VI, girder bridge widening of SR143 Hohokam Freeway over the Salt River in Phoenix, Arizona. Constructability of the widening while keeping the existing bridge open to traffic was key since the SR143 Hohokam is critical for east side ingress/egress to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Extensive coordination was needed with City of Phoenix Aviation department.
