CHICAGO, Illinois – Mike Stirk has joined Stanley Consultants as a project principal. Based in Illinois, Stirk is responsible for business development with both public and private clients served by the firm's Chicago office.
Stirk has over 25 years of management and design experience working with inter-disciplinary and multi-firm design teams. He has a broad background coordinating transportation and urban planning projects that encompass significant public involvement elements such as context sensitive solutions and public policy.
Stirk has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from The Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He is a member of several organizations including the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Illinois Department of Transportation Sustainability Committee; the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association (IRTBA) Planning and Development Board and the IRTBA Project Public Relations Committee; and the Irish Engineers and Contractors of Chicago. He is a former member of the ACEC Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee.
Stirk has received "40 Under 40" recognition from Crain's Chicago Business and was named "Chicagoan of the Year" for Design and Architecture by the Chicago Tribune.
