Stump Recognized as LEED Accredited Professional

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Richard E. Stump, a project principal in the Muscatine office of Stanley Consultants, Inc., has successfully completed the LEED Accreditation Examination and has been recognized as a LEED Accredited Professional TM. Stump is one of only six LEED 2.0 Accredited Professionals TM in the state of Iowa.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System TM was developed by members of the U.S. Green Building Council, which promoted buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.

The LEED Professional Accreditation exam tests an individual’s understanding of green building practices and principals, and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes. The accreditation program recognizes expertise in green building and LEED to help meet the growing demand from the public and private sectors for green buildings.

Stump earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural studies from the University of Illinois and his master’s degree in architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Stanley Consultants in 2001, Stump’s experience includes five years as an architect and combat engineering officer in the United States Air Force. He previously worked as a project manager and architectural designer for an architectural firm in the Pacific Northwest.
