Stanley Consultants Scholarship Winners Announced

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Each year Stanley Consultants awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are dependents of employees, and to select Muscatine High School seniors.

The selections are based on scholarship, character, leadership, and meaningful activities. The scholarships are renewable for a second year based on satisfactory academic standing. They may be used for continued education at either an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.

The company is proud to announce that the 2004 scholarships were awarded to Kristina Lyons, Maggie Potthoff, Anne Brooker, and Matthew Mundell.

Kristina Lyons, a graduate of Rockridge High School, is the daughter of Sandra and Dan Lyons. During school she was active in the field of art and won awards at several art shows. She was a marching band section leader, played the French Horn for the Augustana and St. Ambrose High School Honor Bands, and received numerous music honors. Kristina plans to attend Black Hawk College and major in Animation. Her father, Dan, has worked as a senior architect in Stanley Consultants' Muscatine office since 2001.

Maggie Potthoff, daughter of Tracey Olson and Dave Potthoff, is a graduate of Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois. Maggie is a National Merit Commended Scholar, graduating in the top two percent of the class. She will attend Grinnell College this fall and plans to major in English. Her father, Dave, a project principal in the company’s Chicago office, has been a member of Stanley Consultants for five years. Maggie’s grandfather, Roman Potthoff, worked for the company for 37 years, retiring in 1982.

Anne Brooker, a graduate of Muscatine High School, is the daughter of Bruce Brooker and Katherine Brooker. During high school she excelled in many sports including track, cross country, basketball, soccer, and tennis. She was also a member of many organizations including choir, Young Ambassadors, Electrothon and Model United Nations. Anne plans to attend Iowa State University and major in Architectural Engineering.

Matt Mundell, the son of Brian and Pat Mundell, is a graduate of Muscatine High School. During high school he ran cross country and track, participated in Model United Nations and Boys State, and was a member of the National Council of Youth Leadership (NCYL). Matthew plans to attend Cornell College and is undecided in his major.
