The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Iowa awarded the project with a Grand Award (1st place) in its annual Engineering Excellence competition. The competition recognizes engineering projects that demonstrate an exceptional degree of innovation, complexity, achievement, and value.
The historic Credit Island Lodge, located on the Mississippi River in Davenport’s largest park, was built in the late ‘20s. For over 80 years, the 13,000-square-foot brick lodge was a golf course clubhouse until the course was closed due to frequent river flooding. The lodge was severely damaged by fire in 2013.
