President and CEO of Stanley Consultants, Gayle Roberts has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Iowa State University Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE). This recognition acknowledges the impact Roberts has had on the civil engineering profession and Iowa State University.
“We are delighted to induct Gayle into the Chemical and Biological Engineering Hall of Fame and have her join this most distinguished group of alumni,” said Andrew C. Hillier, Professor and Reginald R. Baxter Endowed Department Chair of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
After graduating from ISU, Roberts joined Stanley Consultants, Iowa’s largest engineering firm, as a chemical engineer. Roberts was elected the fifth president in the company’s history in 2007, becoming the first female president of a global consulting engineering firm. In 2012, she was elected chief executive officer. Today the firm is ranked among the largest engineering companies in the US with a global workforce of 1000 in 30 offices around the world.
