Stanley Receives ISU Distinguished Alumni Award

Dick Stanley, chair emeritus and past president of Stanley Consultants and chair and past president of the Stanley Foundation, has received the Iowa State University Distinguished Alumni Award. The award honors alumni who are nationally and/or internationally recognized for preeminent contributions to their professions or life's work. The award was presented by the Iowa State University Alumni Association and the Iowa State University Foundation during the Distinguished Awards Celebration.

Stanley is a professional engineer, businessman, and world citizen. In addition to mechanical and electrical engineering degrees at Iowa State University, he has a masters degree in sanitary engineering from the University of Iowa. He is retired vice-chair of the board of the HNI Corporation and has served on the board of directors of several for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

As a professional engineer, Stanley has spent his entire career with Stanley Consultants, which provides engineering and related services worldwide.  He has received multiple awards including the Hoover Medal by the Hoover Medal Board of Award; the Distinguished Award of Merit from the American Council of Engineering Companies; the Anson Marston Medal from the College of Engineering of Iowa State University; the Herbert Hoover Centennial Award from the Iowa Engineering Society; and has been inducted into the University of Iowa College of Engineering Distinguished Engineering Alumni Academy.
