Stanley Consultants Advises University Client on Public Private Partnership Utility Transaction
When the Illinois Institute of Technology wanted to update its campus power system and microgrid, it requested advisory assistance from Stanley Consultants to consider its options. The result was a planned rebuild and transfer of the university’s utility system to an outside owner and operator as part of a public private partnership (P3) transaction. The resulting P3 investment by an outside management firm provides the university with a capital solution for deferred maintenance costs, operations and maintenance and energy and cost savings. Its efficient trigeneration system will reduce costs and carbon emissions.
