Digital Modeling Will Assist in Better Water Management in California
Stanley Consultants teamed with digital water partner, GoAigua, and a local hydrogeologist firm to win a well asset management project in Long Beach. This project is directly in alignment with the city’s 2019 Water Resource Plan to verify Long Beach Water Department’s well equipment and pumps are fully functional to extract and deliver to the treatment plant as much groundwater as needed within the allowable pumping allocation of both Central and West Coast Basins. The goal is to maximize groundwater withdrawal in a sustainable and reliable manner. The main components of the project consist of well field data collection and management, groundwater production forecasting, production planning, asset maintenance scheduling and prioritization and supply management. Deliverables include development of digital tools, an asset management program and final report.
