Iowa City Office Hosts Thanksgiving in July
In a battle of Team A and Team B in the Iowa City office, the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) food reservoir was the winner. This friendly competition led to the donation of 203 pounds of food and pantry items. The food reservoir program, under the umbrella of HACAP, channels products to area soup kitchen, food pantries, senior and daycare centers, drug and alcohol treatment centers, homeless shelters, and other nonprofit groups offering food assistance.
One point was given to a team for every pound of food and items donated, with double the points to those items deemed a priority by HACAP. Team A, made up of Alexandra Bruns, Bill Carrig, Megan Dusing, Angie Gould, Todd Knause, Wyatt McCain, Julie Oriano, Angela Phipps, and Melissa Tiedemann, was declared winner with 195 points. Team B, made up of Scott Byram, Cam Conrad, Africa Espina, Michele Irmen, Tyler Marshall, Sean Newlin, Lain Pacini, Cindy Quast, Becky Svatos, and Joe Welter, did a great job with 102 points.
