Salt Lake City Heads Back to School
Many Salt Lake City members and families went to the Thomas O. Smith elementary school, in the Ogden School District, to help paint and freshen up the school prior to the start of the school year. Brad Humphreys and wife Terry, principal at Thomas O. Smith, led the charge and made members aware of the opportunity.
The school provided all the supplies and lunch for all the workers. Members provided the volunteer hours to paint the three main corridors of the school. “The school was built in the 1950s, and the walls looked like they had not been painted in some time. This really freshened things up,” shared Mark Freeman. The team worked together and completed the job in one day, leaving behind a new look for students and faculty to begin their new school year with.
