About the Project
Stanley Consultants brings professional program management skills to 10-project transmission expansion
In rural central Washington State, Grant County is home to fewer than 100,000 residents in its 2,791 square miles, but it is also home to the mighty Columbia River and the Grand Coulee Dam. And where there’s cheap hydropower, there’s demand from data centers from such firms as Google and Microsoft.
Grant County Public Utilities District (GCPUD) responded to the demand by improving transmission facilities to key areas. The project goal was to safely deliver expedited design and construction of nine substations and a 10-mile transmission line with a projected cost of $80 million.
GCPUD selected Stanley Consultants based on its program management approach and methodology of integrating the work breakdown structure, scope, schedule, cost and risk of all 10 projects into an overall program.
“Stanley Consultants has been a great partner for Grant PUD,” said Russ Seiler, manager of power delivery projects for Grant County. “Their project controls team has taught us a lot about how to effectively organize and track a large program of work.”
