About the Project

Texas base installs combo renewable and gas-fired microgrid

Stanley Consultants is designing an $8.1 million, 750-kV smart microgrid for the Conroe Army Reserve Center in Conroe, Texas. The microgrid, using renewable and back-up battery storage and natural gas generation, will provide energy resilience for at least 14 days to mission-critical operations. Along with developing deliverables for the utility interconnection agreement, Stanley Consultants developed and specified requirements for master microgrid controls, automated distribution switching with the utility, low-voltage switchgear, solar photovoltaic panels, mounts, inverters, transformers, controls and communication, AC/DC wiring with conduit, low voltage switchgear and cyber security.
