Impact of Heat on Renewable Energy Investments

Environmental changes are having a significant impact on the renewable energy sector. Extreme heat is driving higher demand for power backup and increasing the likelihood of equipment failure. Simultaneously, shifts in energy demand are creating greater uncertainty for providers, which is affecting the financial outlook of these investments.

Resilient Analytics served as the climate risk consultant for this project, responsible for analyzing potential temperature changes across the southwest. The team also translated these temperature increases into potential energy backup impacts for the investment company. These analyses were required for multiple timeframes.
