Assessing Grid Reliability Risks for Data Centers

Reliability is crucial for the continuous operation of online companies. Specifically, grid reliability for data centers supporting global operations is essential to avoid service interruptions. The objective for this organization was to understand the risks to global data centers that could lead to extended outages. Additionally, the organization aimed to explore the social and economic conflicts over resources with neighboring towns.

Resilient Analytics served as the physical risk consultant for this effort, responsible for analyzing extreme event conditions across a portfolio of global locations. The team was tasked with evaluating the likelihood of grid-threatening events for each location. Each risk assessment was presented with statistical likelihoods specific to each location.

Resilient Analytics combined physical risk modeling with social and economic risk evaluations to determine grid reliability to each data center. The team developed enhanced statistical functions to determine potential threshold risks at each location.
