Naval Station Rota Boathouse

Stanley Consultants and its partners designed a new U.S. Navy boathouse at Naval Station Rota to support specialized operations and mission needs. The comprehensive design, which features a dedicated headquarters building and two covered equipment storage structures, was tailored to meet the program’s unique requirements and facilitate mission readiness and operational efficiency.

Throughout the design process, the Stanley team actively sought client input to create a final product capable of supporting the Command’s mission. All documentation meets Host Nation codes, accessibility standards and European Union material standards.

This project is part of a larger compound and follows the Naval Station Rota Base Exterior Architecture Plan, with building materials and colors selected to balance visual consistency and long-term performance. Facility components include terra cotta-colored hipped roofs made of standing seam metal panels and cast-in-place concrete walls clad in Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS). Areas designated for specialized operations feature insulated metal panel walls finished with the same EIFS treatment. The system provides insulation, weather protection and a uniform exterior finish, supporting energy efficiency, durability and architectural cohesion across the compound.
