Holman is a Senior Project Manager and Principal Geotechnical Engineer with Stanley Consultants, a global consulting engineering firm. The award recognizes outstanding lifetime achievements in the practice of engineering, contributions to the engineering profession, and actions enhancing the image of engineering.

Holman’s professional contributions have made a significant and lasting impact on people’s quality of life around the world. In his 35-year career, he has designed and managed multiple high profile-projects intended to prevent the repeat of a natural or manmade disaster. These innovative, award-winning projects have introduced new, state-of-the-art advancements into the local engineering arena.

A few highlights of Holman’s noteworthy career include delivering drinkable water in Botswana and Yemen, managing geotechnical elements of highways providing safe transit along Jamaica’s North Coast and in Peru’s Andes Mountains, and evaluating a damaged Mt. Coffee Dam during a ceasefire in Liberia’s civil war. He helped bring peace of mind to residents of formerly flood-vulnerable cities along the Red River, often enhancing communities and saving structures through innovative design, and was part of the effort to restore hurricane protection to New Orleans. His recent work on Lake Delhi Dam has received multiple awards for design of Iowa’s first labyrinth spillway and restoration of a lake community.

The Minnesota Federation of Engineering, Science, and Technology Societies (MFESTS) is an umbrella organization comprised of engineering-related member societies within the State of Minnesota. There currently are 19 societies/chapters, representing approximately 6,000 individuals, that are members of MFESTS.
